Welcome April, Poetry Month

April is Poetry month, which means students will be writing and posting lots of poems. This month students will continue to write simile and personification poems, and adding in metaphor and repetition. Enjoy!

A word that looks like smile, simile is our second poetic element. Enjoy students' poetry using at least one example of simile.

The first poetic element students have learned about is personification, which is giving something not human a human characteristic. Examples of this include:

Spoons dancing
Blue telling Red to stop talking
Asking the moon to tell you something
and Asking hope for a favor.
